Founded in 1971 by the Simeonidis Family in Thompson, Manitoba, Santa Lucia Pizza started as a modest take-out pizzeria. While working at the Inco Nickel mines, the family’s commitment to quality food and value quickly turned their establishment into Thompson’s busiest pizzeria within a year.

In 1974, the family relocated to Winnipeg, opening a new location at Waterloo and Corydon. This marked the beginning of rapid expansion across Winnipeg. By 1990, Santa Lucia Pizza had crossed international borders, establishing a presence in Fargo, North Dakota, USA.

A key factor in their success has been their unwavering commitment to quality. Maintaining traditional family recipes, they’ve consistently provided high-quality menu items. Fresh dough, bread, sauces, salad dressings, and traditional Greek foods are all made from scratch, contributing to their reputation for quality beyond just their pizzas.

Santa Lucia Pizza’s dedication to tradition has been recognized and awarded in Winnipeg. Accolades include ‘Best Pizza in Winnipeg’ by Uptown Magazine, the Consumers’ Choice Award for ‘Best Family Restaurant’, ‘Best Garlic Bread’ by the Winnipeg Free Press, ‘Best Greek Salad’ by the Winnipeg Tribune, and a ‘Best Food Booth’ from the Taste of Manitoba.

While various Santa Lucia Pizza locations are independently owned and operated, resulting in some menu variations, the high standard remains consistent. Whether you choose pizza, pasta, salads, signature chicken, ribs, or Greek food, the quality and taste are always exceptional.

How I Have Helped Santa Lucia Pizza

I’ve been working with Santa Lucia since 2014. Since then, we have worked on numerous projects, from a complete site redesign to helping with their social media marketing and PPC campaigns. 

The Website Rebuild

Since 2014 the website has undergone a few upgrades, from the layout to the core, and I continue to help them improve the site as time progresses. 

The site’s core uses WordPress as the platform, and the fantastic Elementor Plugin allows the website to have a nice clean layout that accommodates all devices and poses the capability to expand and grow on the technical side. For example, when a complaint enters the system, customers must choose a location to send their message. The message form dynamically captures details about the customer and auto-fills information about that customer, store location, where the message is intended to go, and to which email inbox the message will ultimately arrive. This set of procedures is all automated and helps Santa Lucia better address its customer’s needs. This benefits the customer by giving them a better user experience; Santa Lucia can better manage the situation.

Social Media and Marketing Efforts at Santa Lucia Pizza

Event Hosting and Email Marketing Santa Lucia Pizza’s St. Mary location recently hosted a memorable event, a Winnipeg Jet’s game night, which attracted numerous patrons to the restaurant. I played a pivotal role in this event, specifically in setting up an efficient email marketing system. This system was instrumental in disseminating information and promotional content to the restaurant’s extensive subscriber base. The successful execution of this marketing strategy significantly contributed to the event’s popularity and attendance.

Additionally, my involvement extended to the realm of digital design. I was responsible for creating some of the initial banners that were prominently featured on Santa Lucia Pizza’s website and various social media platforms. These banners were not only visually appealing but also effectively communicated the brand’s message and the specifics of the event, thereby enhancing the overall marketing efforts.

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Campaigns Beyond social media and email marketing, I also ventured into the territory of online advertising, specifically through Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns. My expertise in this area was applied to assist several Santa Lucia Pizza locations across Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

The focus of these PPC campaigns was twofold. Firstly, they aimed to encourage online customers to visit the physical restaurant locations. This was achieved by offering attractive discounts on certain menu items, which successfully drove foot traffic to the restaurants. Secondly, the campaigns served as a platform to promote the latest additions to the Santa Lucia Pizza menu. By highlighting these new offerings, the campaigns generated curiosity and interest among the target audience.

These PPC campaigns, executed through platforms like Google Ads and Facebook Ads, were straightforward yet effective. They leveraged the power of online advertising to reach a broader audience, ultimately contributing to increased customer engagement and sales. The simplicity of the campaign design ensured that the key messages were conveyed clearly and directly, resulting in a positive response from the target audience.

Conclusion My contribution to Santa Lucia Pizza’s marketing efforts, ranging from event hosting and email marketing to PPC campaigns, reflects a versatile and multi-faceted approach. These initiatives not only bolstered the restaurant’s online presence but also translated into tangible benefits like higher customer turnout and increased sales. Through these diverse marketing strategies, Santa Lucia Pizza has been able to strengthen its brand and expand its customer base.

Result

Once the Website was launched and the advertising promotion was created and broadcasted, the number of leads increased drastically.

The Website had a direction, so it was easier to create ads catered to specific markets. Through Facebook, we started to post images that contained information about finances. Each post had a hyperlink that direct users to the offer located on the Website. Through Google Ads, we ran a search campaign using specific keywords to help hyper-target the potential customers Capital For Market was looking hoping to attract to their offers.
